In the city of Mainz, on a cold night in 1330, a midwife is on her way to the house of the Jewish merchant Benjamin Speyer. The cry of a young woman giving birth in the middle of the street interrupts her journey. Despite all her efforts, the child's mother dies, and the Speyers place the girl in the care of one of the Christian families serving in their home. Lucia grows up between the misery of her foster family and the sophisticated world of the Speyers, where the Arab nanny Al Shifa will make her the repository of her knowledge of medicine. When the shadow of the plague looms over much of the country, Lucia must use all her efforts to save her family and stop the fatal epidemic. Translation provided by NLS. Unrated. Spanish language. Marrakesh title.

Unrated. Spanish language. Marrakesh title.
